🇮🇸 NIB finances research and development at Embla Medical

Helsinki, Finland – August 3, 2026 – NIB has signed a EUR 50 million 7-year loan with Embla Medical hf. The financing will support the company’s research and development activities during 2027–2029.

The project contributes to innovation in the healthcare sector and the development of advanced medical technologies. The investments focus on the development of new and improved prosthetics, orthotics and related healthcare solutions, including advances in materials, digital technologies and patient care.

“Innovation in medical technology plays an important role in improving quality of life and supporting sustainable healthcare systems,” says Jeanette Vitasp, NIB Vice-President & Head of Lending.

Embla Medical hf. is a global provider of prosthetics, orthotics and mobility solutions, headquartered in Iceland and operating in more than 120 markets worldwide.
