Turkish parliament ratifies Finland’s NATO accession as Sweden kept waiting

The U.S. and other NATO countries hope the two Nordic countries can become members of the alliance at a NATO summit in Lithuania in July.

ANKARA — Turkey’s parliament approved a bill on Thursday to allow Finland to join NATO, clearing the way for Helsinki to join the Western defense alliance as war rages in Ukraine.
