The US may be looking to acquire 10 more icebreakers — possibly from Finland

Off-the-cuff remarks from President Trump last week suggest the U.S. might purchase icebreakers from abroad.

In comments made during a visit to the U.S. Southern Command on Friday U.S. President Donald Trump announced  that the U.S. is looking to acquire a total of 10 new icebreakers. “We have, under construction right now, the largest icebreaker in the world. And we’re going to be trying to get, if we can, an extra 10 icebreakers,” Trump stated.
