🇫🇮 Nordic Foodtech VC announces €30 million investment from European Investment Fund

(EIF)

September 10, 2026

Time to set the table for some good news. The European Investment Fund (EIF) is investing up to €30 million in our second fund, taking us within a bite of our €80 million target.

This capital goes straight to start-ups building the technology and solutions that strengthen Europe’s food security and future-proof our food system.

Food is one of the most exciting and meaningful places to invest, because everyone eats and the whole food system is being reshaped right now by climate pressure, geopolitics, and fragile supply chains. We do not have time to wait for the perfect solution. Europe needs a clear, ambitious innovation story, one that tells researchers, entrepreneurs and companies loud and clear: build it here!

We have now backed 22 companies across the Nordics, the Baltics, and Germany, working on everything from new colours and flavours and oat-based cheeses to nutrient recovery and satellites watching over fields and the environment. The goal is around 30 more investments over the next years.

Europe invented much of modern food and biotech. Investments into our Fund are a strong signal that Europe still wants, and still can, be in the race.

Thank you to all our LPs for trusting us and backing this journey, and to every founder building the future of food alongside us.
