Scientists advise slashing Barents Sea cod, haddock quotas

It's the third year in a row researcher have called for a reduced catch of Barents Sea cod.

The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea recommends the 2019 quota for Barents Sea cod to be set to a maximum of 674,678 tons. That’s down 100,000 tons compared with the 2018 quotas, and the third year in a row that researchers have recommended a reduction in catch.
