The region is changing from a sea with Arctic characteristics to one more like the North Atlantic.
The northern Barents Sea is an Arctic warming hotspot, says Sigrid Lind with the Marine Research Institute in Tromsø, Norway. The area is changing from an Arctic climate to an Atlantic one, concludes a study by Lind and other scientists. The results are published in a recent article in Nature.
